Due to the unfortunate effects of ageing, we are having to make some changes. Beginning June 1st, we will only be seeing patients weighing less than 30 lbs. At the end of the year, we will be suspending all in-person operations but will be filling medications and providing telemedicine services as appropriate until your pet's annual exam is due.

To schedule a Friday or Sunday appointment or medication refill please text 808-589-8181 or email your request in advance to southkonavet@gmail.com. We are no longer doing any housecalls, teeth cleanings, or surgeries.

From vaccines to ear infections, we can handle most minor medical issues. Telemedicine available for some cases.
Our "office" tent is set up across from Manago Hotel Fridays and Sundays 9-2. (closed for lunch)
Dr. Jones has been practicing for 30 years and "semi-retired" to South Kona in 2013. In 2014 we opened South Kona Veterinary Service with the goal of providing quality care at a reasonable price for all of South Kona's pets. Our overhead is low and we pass this on to our customers. We carry only the medications and equipment we need for our anticipated caseload. While this means you need to keep track of your own reminders and wait awhile, it's not a bad trade-off. Where else can you sit and listen to live music in an open air waiting room and talk story with your neighbors? When needed, we refer to the clinics in town for diagnostics like x-rays and ultrasound, and for more serious cases needing hospital care.
